This conference brings together people from different countries, disciplines, and fields of practice, united by a common interest: exploring how reading – in all its dimensions, as a cultural practice, as a key to participation, and as a tool for education – can be shaped transnationally and inclusively.

Reading is far more than the recognition of letters. It is an entry point into worlds, into other perspectives, into societal participation. Yet this entry point is not self-evident for everyone. Especially in inclusive learning environments, it becomes clear that we need new ways to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to open up the world of reading.
TRAIL aims to address precisely this:
• Transnational – because we believe that we learn from one another when we cross borders and take diverse cultural contexts into account.
• Reading Approaches – because there are many ways to foster reading: literary, didactic, digital, and creative.
• Inclusive Learning Environments – because education can only be truly open to all when diversity is actively embraced.
Over the next few days, there will be the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss practical experiences, and develop shared perspectives. We will hear how research and teaching practice can inspire one another, how digital technologies can open new pathways, and how reading promotion is shaped in different countries.
